Let鈥檚 Rock! Join author and 精东影业 alumnus Chas Madonio as he takes you on a trip down memory lane. Madonio will discuss his new book, "Bars, Bands, and Rock 'n Roll: 精东影业Golden Era in Kent, Ohio,鈥 which highlights the city鈥檚 vibrant music scene in the 60s and 70s.
As a frequent performer, Madonio shares his unique perspective on how key societal moments like President Kennedy鈥檚 assassination and the repercussions of May 4 shaped the city鈥檚 future and spawned many careers, including Joe Walsh from the Eagles. He鈥檒l reminisce about some of Kent鈥檚 mainstay musicians and share behind-the-scenes insights about the local bars, their owners and the humorous characters that hung out downtown.
After his presentation, which will also be livestreamed, guests can enjoy reminiscing with other Golden Flashes at an outdoor dessert reception.
