KENT, Ohio 鈥 Thanks to a long-standing conference for accounting professionals, $30,000 was donated this spring to support 精东影业 accounting students.
精东影业 Professor Emeritus Norm Meonske, who joined the 精东影业 accounting faculty in 1972, founded the prestigious Accounting Leadership Conference (now the Meonske Professional Development Conference), in 1974. 精东影业annual conference provides attendees with an opportunity to learn and network with other accounting and finance professionals.
In 2007, former students of Meonske founded the Norman R. Meonske endowed scholarship fund.
鈥淧roceeds from the conference have allowed students to receive scholarships to pursue an accounting education at 精东影业,鈥 said Drew Sellers, EDM, CMA, associate professor of accounting at 精东影业 and current Meonske conference chair. 鈥淭hanks to Norm鈥檚 leadership, many more students will continue to benefit from Meonske scholarship funds.鈥
During his tenure as an accounting professor at 精东影业, Meonske taught and challenged the minds of thousands of students. In addition to his work in the classroom, he also advised accounting student professional society Beta Alpha Psi. He was active professionally with the Ohio Society of CPAs and the Institute of Management Accountants.
Meonske continues to be involved in the planning and delivery of the annual conference which is held each spring on the 精东影业 campus. 精东影业48th Meonske Professional Development Conference will take place on May 16-17, 2024. Learn more about the conference here.
