Undergraduate Research Winners Announced

精东影业 Salem Students Showcase Research Projects 

Salem, Ohio 鈥 精东影业 University at Salem held its fall Undergraduate Research Conference, an event that recognizes students for their research and allows them to share what they learned through discussions with the academic staff. This year, there were 38 presentations given by a combined total of 51 students.

精东影业conference is open to all undergraduates in any discipline and in any for-credit course at the Salem campus. Cash prizes are presented to the winners. Faculty judges evaluate the presentations based on originality; significance; evidence of learning about the research and information gathering process; and overall quality. 

精东影业winners of this Undergraduate Research Conference are: 

Long oral presentations - First place: Chelsea Minnich, Brianne Wagner and Dannielle Hendershot with 鈥淧utting Safety First: 精东影业Importance of Intruder Safety in Schools;鈥 second place: Kayla Jenkins and Nick Baronzzi with 鈥 精东影业Perks of Being a Woman in Medieval Iceland;鈥 third place (tie): Winter Weyland with 鈥淪mart Cookie;鈥 and Casey Yourex with 鈥淢entoring vs. Educational Conformity.鈥 

Short oral presentations - First place: Mathew Duck with 鈥 精东影业Effectiveness of Exercise and Cholesterol;鈥 second place: Kelly Waller with 鈥淨uantitative Analysis Final Project;鈥 third place: Kathlena Lattanzio with 鈥淣apping and Increases in Productivity and Memory;鈥 honorable mention: Brittany Jarrett with 鈥淲ho Drinks More Wine?鈥 and Elizabeth Miller with 鈥淒oes the Freshman 15 Turn into the Senior 30?鈥 

Poster presentations 鈥 First place: Trent Frederick, Greg Lowe and Mike Rockhold with 鈥3 T MRI Prostate Imaging;鈥 second place: Emily Brain with 鈥 精东影业Importance of Secure Attachment between Infant and Caretaker;鈥 third place: Amy Johnston with 鈥 精东影业Homeschool Option;鈥 honorable mention: Allison Edie with 鈥淏ullying;鈥 and Christy Zeigler and Nick Torelli with 鈥淓ffects of Autism on Early Development.鈥
