¾«¶«Ó°ÒµSchool of Communication Studies recently hosted a Read-In, drawing a crowd of students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members, who gathered to draw attention and speak out about book bans and challenges happening across the nation.

Participants read excerpts from these books and more:  "Farenheit 451," " ¾«¶«Ó°ÒµHate U Give," "To Kill a Mockingbird" "Persepolis," " ¾«¶«Ó°ÒµPerks of Being a Wallflower," " ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ1619 Project," "Looking for Alaska," " ¾«¶«Ó°ÒµKite Runner," " ¾«¶«Ó°ÒµThings They Carried," the Harry Potter series and many other contemporary and classic titles.

Communication Studies Director Paul Haridakis opened the event by discussing historic and legal perspectives on book banning and why speaking out matters.
