¾«¶«Ó°Òµ

¾«¶«Ó°Òµ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ University Women’s Center in the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will celebrate its 20th anniversary during the 2016-17 school year. ¾«¶«Ó°ÒµWomen’s Center, formerly called the Women’s Resource Center, was established in 1996 following a recommendation from a university stakeholder committee to former ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ President Carol A. Cartwright. ¾«¶«Ó°Òµcenter was established with a specific purpose: to contribute to a climate at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ University that is responsive to and supportive of women’s needs. In 2010, the name of the center was changed from the Women’s Resource Center to the ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ Women’s Center, as the scope of the center expanded. 

Many events have been planned to celebrate and share the rich history of the Women’s Center, including:

• One Billion Rising on Feb. 15
• We Go Red: Women’s Heart Health Luncheon (co-hosted with the Division of Human Resources) on Feb. 18
• ¾«¶«Ó°Òµseventh annual Mothers, Mentors and Muses event on March 8 ( ¾«¶«Ó°Òµhonored keynote speaker is ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ President Emerita Carol A. Cartwright).
• Women’s History Month Living Library on March 15
• ¾«¶«Ó°ÒµVagina Monologues on April 15-16
