Katie Carpenter, ’23, has a passion for photography, and ӰҵWallace J. Hagedorn Scholarship has helped her hone these skills and express her creativity. This competitive photography scholarship supports student costs and helps them pursue out-of-classroom experiences to develop strong portfolios.
“This scholarship helped me purchase lens equipment I otherwise could not have afforded,” she said. “It took my photography to the next level, and I am so grateful.”
She has served as a photographer for A Magazine, the Ӱҵ student fashion magazine, and an ambassador for the College of Communication and Information.
Katie graduated in spring 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in visual communication design and minors in photography and user experience design. She recently joined the federal government to work in web publishing.
