¾«¶«Ó°Òµpolitics of translation in reading modern Iran –Mythologies of history in post-revolutionary Anglo-American interpretations of Ali Shariati’s political philosophy.

This research and associated forthcoming journal article aim to directly address the issues of subjective knowledge in cross-national historiography and retrospectively reading revolution through the lens of translations. ¾«¶«Ó°ÒµIranian intellectual activist Ali Shariati (1933–1977) serves as a significant case study in sociopolitical cognitive dissonance with the posthumous rise of his works and philosophies nationally in Iran, regionally in the Middle East, and internationally across Islamic societies.  ¾«¶«Ó°Òµresearch attempts to unravel the myths behind the man and the mind.
