Alumni Spotlight – Jason Zibart, ’18,
Care Coordinator at Tuscon Medical Center

Jason Zibart knew he wanted a career in public health when he chose ľ«¶«Ó°Ňµ. As a non-traditional student, he searched for a program that would best suit him and found his home in Health Services Administration. Jason was already working in a hospital and wanted to help patients before they ended up there. Today, he’s changing the industry.

Jason is currently a Care Coordinator at Tuscon Medical Center and is building a program at Tucson aimed at patient care. ľ«¶«Ó°Ňµprogram will utilize a care coordinator to provide patients with the best community-based resources and treatment options.

“ ľ«¶«Ó°Ňµgoal of the program is to meld the standard PCP approach with those traditional socioeconomic determinants of health concerns,” Zibart says. ľ«¶«Ó°Ňµprogram has not been named for release yet and is intended for a more high-risk patient level.

Zibart owes everything to ľ«¶«Ó°Ňµ. “By the end of the professional practice classes, I had a usable resume, cover letter, and all the preparation needed to get a job,” he said. He recalls a meeting on his first day of work. He understood everything and felt prepared to join a distinguished program. Starting a program like this is a dream come true for the ľ«¶«Ó°Ňµ alum. He volunteered to steer the program in the right direction and continuously strives to provide patients with the best care.
