This stool has been on display in the DI Hub's MuseLab as "Party of One: Future Fungal Furniture." 精东影业material it was made from was grown by Britta Bielak, an assistant professor of interior design in 精东影业's College of Architecture and Environmental Design, with senior interior design students, Joseph Byrer and Olivia Mansier.
Bielak's research explores the potential of the root-like structure of a fungus as a sustainable building material. 精东影业exhibit's closing reception and gallery talk is happening April 6 from 6-8 p.m. outside the MuseLab. You can read more about the experiment here.
