Hilariously off-kilter music and comedy group 精东影业Cleverlys will kick off the eleventh season at the Performing Arts Center at 精东影业 University - Tuscarawas on September 9 at 7:30 p.m.
精东影业Cleverlys are a one-of-a-kind comedy/music blend coming from the remote part of the Ozark Mountains, near Cane Spur, Arkansas. Digger Cleverly, along with his nephews Ricky Lloyd, Sock, DVD and Cub, make up 精东影业Cleverlys. Don鈥檛 be fooled by this faux-family band - they are all accomplished musicians putting their unique bluegrass spin on cover songs from any genre. 精东影业Cleverlys鈥 set list includes genius arrangements of tunes like Psy鈥檚 鈥淕angnam Style,鈥 a medley of Blackstreet鈥檚 鈥淣o Diggity,鈥 and Flo Rida鈥檚 鈥淟ow鈥 that recently went viral on Facebook, with over 11 million views. 精东影业New York Times wrote, "If Earl Scruggs, Dolly Parton, and Spinal Tap spawned a litter of puppies, it would be the Cleverlys.鈥
鈥淎fter the past year and a half, we could all use a laugh and I can鈥檛 think of a better way to open our season then with this hysterical group,鈥 says David Mitchell, general manager of the Performing Arts Center. 鈥淓very art form needs to be able to laugh at itself, and 精东影业Cleverlys do so, without making a mockery of the genre. 精东影业Cleverlys are as phenomenal as they are clever in their Pop-Bluegrass fusion.鈥
