Ohio Celebration of Women in Computing

精东影业2025 Ohio Celebration of Women in Computing conference was held on February 21-22, 2025. Our students who attended found opportunities to learn and network with professionals in the field.

Among the speakers at the 2025 event, EMAT Assistant Professor Emily Baumgartner presented on "Computer Science in PK-12," sharing ways to make computer science courses more engaging in early education, including mentorships, clubs and volunteer opportunities.  Attendees also could choose sessions on artificial intelligence both in application and how to explain it to a general audience, creating welcoming environments for asynchronous learning, game design and the keynote talk on implementing ethics in emerging media.

Emily Young, one of our EMAT students, captured some of the programmatic offerings at the 2025 conference as well as some of the fun of the days and shared these experiences during during the event. Here are some of the highlights she shared at that time.

精东影业Ohio Celebration of Women in Computing (OCWiC) is a biennial conference that gives college women the opportunity to explore careers in IT, to network with other young women and to meet possible mentors. OCWiC inspires women to complete their studies in computing by expanding their awareness of career possibilities and learning from leaders from business, industry and academia.
