At its June 6 meeting, the ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ University Board of Trustees took action on the following items:

Trustees Endorse FY 2013 University Budget That Supports Major Campus Improvements

¾«¶«Ó°ÒµBoard approved a balanced educational and operating budget for ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ University’s eight-campus system as it commended the university’s leadership for demonstrating sound and strategic management through difficult financial times.

¾«¶«Ó°Òµ22nd annual College for Kids program is being offered by ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ University at Tuscarawas. This summer's sessions offer 46 fun and interesting youth enrichment classes for students who were in 1st through 8th grades during the 2011-2012 school year. Session I is offered June 18-22, and Session II takes place July 23-27. Each five-day session offers courses from 10 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Children in ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ University’s Child Development Center are sending a strong message about the environment through posters and signage that they designed to draw attention to the dangers of littering and benefits of recycling.

¾«¶«Ó°Òµ offers a year-round Weight Watchers at Work program to faculty, staff and students on all campuses and community locations. Earlier this year, Weight Watchers introduced a new monthly pass program that includes the Points Plus program and e-tools, to make losing weight easier while still enjoying many of the foods you like to eat.

¾«¶«Ó°Òµnew program allows members the flexibility and convenience to attend a Weight Watchers at Work meeting or a meeting in their community. Members can also download the Weight Watchers mobile application on their smart phones at no charge.

Division of Human Resources Vice President Willis Walker announced last week that ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ will operate on a holiday schedule in December. ¾«¶«Ó°Òµholiday schedule will run from Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, through Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. During that time, all nonessential operations will be closed at all ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ campuses. Normal business operations will resume with the first shift on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013.

¾«¶«Ó°Òµ University at Geauga recently hosted three community events that brought students from Berkshire High School, community business owners and consumers, and senior citizens to the campus.

With all of the fashion students and professors at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ, one might expect successful fashion designers, but not many people would have guessed Office of Continuing and Distance Education Outreach Program Manager Angie Stevens as one of those people.
