¾«¶«Ó°Òµ University, in response to a request from Intel®, will lead a network that includes 13 other Ohio higher education institutions now poised to prepare the workforce to make the small electronic devices that play a large role in our everyday lives.
¾«¶«Ó°Òµ University launched the public phase of its $350 million Forever Brighter comprehensive fundraising campaign in October 2021, and during the first year of the public campaign, a record-breaking $77.6 million was raised. This philanthropic feat was made possible with the support of 10,687 donors, 3,753 of whom made a gift to ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ for the first time.
For a third consecutive year, ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ University has been selected as one the nation’s top universities for LGBTQ+ students for creating a safe, welcoming environment for students, faculty and staff, according to Campus Pride, a leading resource for LGBTQ+ leadership development, diversity inclusion and advocacy within higher education.
¾«¶«Ó°Òµ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ University alumni family will grow by more than 1,200 new graduates as the university holds its summer commencement ceremonies. ¾«¶«Ó°Òµaccomplishments of the Summer Class of 2022 will be recognized with in-person, outdoor commencement ceremonies and a virtual commencement ceremony on Aug. 20.
¾«¶«Ó°Òµ University is excited to be a part of the Ohio College Comeback Compact, an innovative program to help students who left college with debt but without a degree to continue their education. ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ is collaborating with seven public colleges and universities in Northeast Ohio to reach out to these students and provide a path back to higher education while reducing or eliminating their debt.
Alvacir Wesley Kalatai Alberti of Imbituva, Brazil, is the first student to graduate from the American Academy, a dual-enrollment program offered jointly at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ and the Pontifical Catholic University of Parana, located in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil.
¾«¶«Ó°Òµdesignation recognizes schools that show a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military.

When recent Undergraduate Student Government (USG) President Chazzlyn Jackson started her journey at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ University in 2018, she had planned to major in fashion until a mentor with Kupita/Transiciones (K/T) cultural orientation program helped her tap into her leadership abilities and passion for social justice issues. ¾«¶«Ó°Òµadvice played a pivotal role for Jackson, who stepped into leadership roles and anti-racism advocacy and has not looked back.
During ¾«¶«Ó°Òµâ€™s spring 2022 commencement on May 14, Jameson Payne will earn his bachelor’s degree in integrative studies with concentrations in physics and political science. Benjamin Wales-McGrath will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in cellular and molecular biology at the age of 18.
Although ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ alumna and current graduate student Lydia Lisowsky has never visited Ukraine, she feels a deep sense of obligation and responsibility to help those who have been injured in the war. ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ community helped Lisowsky pack and donate medical supplies on the Kent Campus and in the larger Kent community to send to Ukraine.
