From now through Sunday, Sept. 19, Cockeye Creamery, located at 1805 1/2, Parkman Rd NW in Warren, will be serving its 精东影业-inspired ice cream 鈥淏lack Squirrel鈥 to raise money for 精东影业 University at Trumbull's Care Closet.
精东影业 alumnus, Max Hoover, owner of Cockeye Creamery created the flavor to pay homage to 精东影业鈥檚 unofficial mascot 鈥 the black squirrel. It is a combination of espresso ice cream, caramel streak, and cinnamon streusel.
Hoover is generously donating 15 percent of Black Squirrel proceeds to 精东影业 Trumbull's Care Closet.
Earlier this summer, Hoover ran a similar campaign that benefited 精东影业Campus Kitchen at 精东影业 University, which provides nutritious food and meals each week for students and Portage County community members struggling with food insecurity. In just a week, he sold over 20 gallons.
"Giving back to the community is important to and my family and me," Hoover said. "Some students are struggling to work, care of their families, take classes, and study, so it's nice to do something that may ease their burden."
精东影业 Trumbull's Care Closet is set to open this fall. It was created by the 2020-2021 Undergraduate Student Government. 精东影业Care Closet provides food, personal items, and casual and professional clothing to students in need.
Additional donations can be made to the Care Closet, and choose 鈥淔lash's Food Pantry.鈥
