����Ӱҵ University Photographer Bob Christy and a handful of students spent more than six hours last July in Akagera National Park; the trip was near the end of the students' summer educational experience known as the Kigali Summer Institute, which explores the post-genocide reconstruction of Rwanda and issues related to peace and conflict in the context of the country’s history.

Senior fashion design major Kayleigh McGreal has completed a semester abroad, a semester away and three fashion internships.

"I was excited for the ensemble to be recognized for performances from our first season, including our Severance Hall performance of “Mother of Revolution!” Each season, the group has built on the first season and continues to develop excellence in musicianship. Community healthcare providers in Northeast Ohio are encountering an increase in patients seeking maternal mental health services. ����Ӱҵ College of Nursing Assistant Professor James Tudhope and his research team aim to make maternal mental healthcare more integrated into regular practice and standard education.

From now through Dec. 15, ����Ӱҵ University is collecting clean, gently used or new items of warm clothing for all ages, including coats, hats, gloves, scarves and sweaters, as part of its Winter Coat and Clothing Drive.

Area high school students learned about the benefits of a career in accounting while participating in the ����Ӱҵ University High School Accounting Case Challenge.

Hosted by the ����Ӱҵ Department of Accounting, the event brought together 85 students from Kent Theodore Roosevelt High School, North Canton Hoover High School, Aurora High School and Tallmadge High School. ����Ӱҵcompetition was sponsored by ����ӰҵOhio Society of CPAs, Pease Bell CPAs, Robert Fay, Ernst & Young, Novogradac and RSM.

����Ӱҵrelationship between college students and mental health remains important as students may experience stress and burnout due to strenuous routines and other factors. ����Ӱҵ’s current mental health campaign has allowed a university-wide discussion regarding mental health and the stigmas associated with talking about it. 

Mentoring has always been a valuable part of life for Christa Porter, Ph.D., associate dean for the Graduate College. ����Ӱҵmentoring process never ends, according to Porter. She believes that mentees are meant to grow up and become mentors, passing on the mantle and creating a life cycle of mentorship.  

In an afternoon performance, the sounds of  ����Ӱҵ����Ӱҵ University Orchestra resounded within Cartwright Hall.

After decades as a pastor, David Zachrich had a sudden and dramatic reevaluation of his life. A life-threatening heart attack 15 years ago forced him to step back and reconsider his path. Zachrich’s cardiologist challenged him to find something to do that he enjoyed. Zachrich immediately thought of teaching, something he very much wanted to do as a second career, and now he's won an award for it.

����ӰҵInternational Cook-Off Competition, the Office of Global Education's signature event, was held during International Education Week and featured food and beverages from around the world.

����Ӱҵ's University Libraries is the place for student success and research. It's a makerspace. It was recently voted "Best Place to Study" by the ����Ӱҵr. It's a repository for journals, books and historical and rare materials. This might be the most traditional function provided by the library in this series so far, but it's anything but ordinary. Take the elevator up and into the past ... and then we pet dogs.

Jason Lorenzon, J.D., assistant professor of aeronautics, recently joined the “Ray Horner Morning Show” on WAKR to talk about current pilot shortages and how air travelers can prepare for the busy holiday travel season.

SkyHack awards students more than $9,000 in prizes at the competition held Nov. 3-5, 2023, in the Design Innovation Hub.
